In a bid to enhance basic social services to the people of District #4 in Grand Bassa County, the Equatorial Palm Oil (EPO) Company has begun implementing several development activities in the district.
The exercise, which started in February 2014, is part of the efforts by the company to restore cordial working relationship and confident between the manager of the company’s and the citizens of the District, especially those affected communities within the concession areas.
Under the program, the company has begun providing free health care delivery services to local community dwellers through mobile operation as the mean of addressing their health problems.
Wesseh Weah Bestman, Manager of Government Liaison for Community Services and Communication, disclosed that EPO has completed the construction of several Hand pumps in four communities in the area.
They are, Debbah Town, Gbangee Town and Willehsama Town.
He also mentioned that the construction of Kpampala Town Hands is at 60 percent completion and assured the citizens that the company’s will continued to fulfill it social responsibility in the area.
According to him, the company’s is looking at the health care of local dwellers in the area and, as well as the improvement of roads and safe drinking water.
“The company will also address that the people of District #4 seek employment at the company.”
Adding that, Mr. Bestman said the company has completed a 13 kilo-meter road linking the people of Gbar town to the main highway adjoining the district head quarter Buchannan.
“We are not only involved in health delivery services but also providing educational material to schools.”
Mr. Bestman, has meanwhile assured the citizens of the district of employment opportunity and its programs to other affected nearby communities as soon as the cleaning exercises begins.
Meanwhile, the Equatorial Palm Oil has launched a radio program named “Inside EPO to the people” as a way of creating awareness of the company’s activities to the citizens of the District #4.
The program is aired on Radio Gbehzohn and Radio Dukpa in Buchannan and providing citizen detail information about the company’s operation and highlighted the Linbineo Concession agreement.
