A number of patriotic initiatives are being undertaken in Crozierville and Careysburg, during this festive Season.
The first, taking place at 10 o’clock this morning, Christmas Eve, is the dedication of the Frank Town Peace Hut near the former Voice of America broadcast site in Careysburg, followed by the lighting of a Christmas Tree in Crozierville.
The Peace Hut in Frank Town is located after Quelu Farm, off the VOA Careysburg Road.
The tree lighting ceremony, which will later be held at the Crozierville Pioneer Monument, will coincide with a Christmas Cantata, due to take place at the same site. Both the Tree Lighting and the Cantata will take place on Christmas Eve, today, at five o’clock p.m.
Just before the Tree Lighting Ceremony, a Voice of Rural Montserrado (VRM) Transmitter House Sign Board will be unveiled adjacent the Silver Compound in Bentol City, Montserrado County, at 4:30 p.m.
Lonestar Cell MTN Chairman Benoni Urey will cut the ribbon for the Peace Hut, unveil the sign board and light the Christmas Tree. Chairman Urey is an eminent citizen of the Careysburg District, which includes Careysburg City from which he hails, Bentol (also known as Bensonville), Crozierville, White Plains, Harrisburg and other townships on the banks of the St. Paul River.
Other highlights on the programs will include invocation by the Rev. Father Harris W. Woart, priest-in-charge of Christ Episcopal Church of Crozierville, and Episcopal Bishop Jonathan B.B. Hart, respectively; remarks by the Superintendent of Montserrado County, Madam Florence Brandy and Bentol Mayor Madam Christine Norman.
The vote of thanks will be given by Mr. Disire S. Satia, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Voice of Rural Montserrado, located in Bentol City.
Refreshments will follow at Leona Farm on Ada Acres, Crozierville.
