The Christian Health Association of Liberia (CHAL) on Wednesday donated food and other items to the Liberia Albino Society (LAS) as a contribution to help with its operations.
Addressing journalists after the presentation ceremony held at the LAS headquarters in Logan Town, Bushrod Island, a CHAL representative said that the organization's objective is to provide the highest standard of holistic Christian healthcare services to the people of Liberia.
The CHAL authority, whose was name withheld, said the donated items included rice, medicated soap, butter, cream of wheat, sugar and milk.
CHAL is also assisting the government in the fight against the deadly Ebola virus, he said.
CHAL creates a forum and network through which members can exchange ideas and information, as well as resources among themselves on the health issues and problems facing the people in Liberia, he added.
In her response, the president of LAS, Madam Patricia Logan, described CHAL’s gesture as one designed to motivate individuals and organizations, especially the LAS, that are economically deprived.
Madam Logan thanked CHAL and its international partners for the donations and called on all Liberians and philanthropic organizations to emulate CHAL’s good example of helping LAS and others.
