The Calvary of Hope Foundation (CHF), a local non- governmental organization catering to the welfare of children, has received donations worth over US$500 from the Liberia Sweden Association.
The CHF which has its offices at Mamba Point, Monrovia was founded in 2014 and provides tuition to less fortunate children to go to school. It presently provides support to 150 children in Monsterrado and Bong counties.
The donated items include bedspreads, towels, handkerchiefs, clothes, shoes, copybooks, among others.
The donation was presented to the CHF by Liberia Sweden Association Board Chairman Mr. Jemanuel K. Sherman, who said the donation was CHF’s own way of identifying with Calvary of Hope Foundation.
He said he received the items for onward delivery to CHF. He promised the Liberia Sweden Association’s willingness to work with CHF in alleviating some challenges faced by less fortunate Liberians.
Receiving the items CHF Executive Director and Founder Mr. Paul J. Garyzon expressed thanks and appreciation to the Liberia Sweden Association for recognizing their effort in assisting the less fortunate, children in the country.
He then promised that the donation will be used for the intended purpose and praised Mr. Sherman who he said was very instrumental in getting the items in the country. He also praised Mr. Eliot Imhoff, member of the LSA, for being a blessing to CHF.
He explained that the CHF was founded early last year to help educate children whose parents are unable to afford.
Meanwhile Mr. Garyezon is appealing to other local and foreign NGOs and the Liberian government to support the foundation. He disclosed that at present, the CHF is catering to 150 students both in Montserrado and Bong counties.
