A cross section of citizens in Neekreen Statutory District #5 in Grand Bassa County, have certificated and petitioned Attorney Johnson Y. Gbor to contest for the representative post in the 2017 general elections for the district.
The citizens petitioned Atty. Gbor over the weekend at the Jahjet Outreach Mission in Upper Harlandsville Town.
In their petition spokesman Alphanso Wheagar said the choice of Atty. Gbor, a Liberty Party partisan, even though he lost in the last elections is because he continues to identify with their plight.
“Gbor who is a lawyer by profession, has been working at the legislature for a decade now, and with his vast experience in law making, “we are confident that when elected he will better represent the district with credibility”, the citizens pointed out.
The citizens said even though Atty. Gbor is not a citizen of Neekreen Statutory District #5, but hails from Electoral District 5 also known as Kpogbarn Statutory District #4, they have eyed him for his numerous contributions including human resource development, health and education. Road networks, churches and his role played during the Ebola days when he spent more than LD100,000 for Ebola awareness.
They commended him for his informative and educative program called what the law says which is produced on Radio Dukpa, a local Radio Station every Friday, connecting three Bassa counties about the Liberian Constitution and other legal rights under the Liberian laws.
The colorful program was climaxed by the presentation of an organization name” It is your Time to Atty. Gbor by the citizens to be used as a campaign force in 2017.
In response, Atty. Gbor accepted the gestures and lauded the desires of the citizens and assured them that the Liberty Party will demonstrate the kind of sound leadership to their expectation.
He promised that if elected his administration will be inclusive and prayed for the commitment of the citizens.
The program was graced by the mass choir of Jahz yet Mission in Upper Harlandsville Township.
