Ambassadors FC’s 4-1 win against Senior Female Professionals on Saturday helped the Christian faith club maintained their status in Orange Upper Women’s Division league.
On the other hand, the win for Ambassadors worsened the relegation worries of Sr. Female Pro as they slipped one step backward in their target to get at least seven points from their last two games.
Edwardline Jackson had a great weekend by recording two goals that were increased to four when Sierra Leone international Wuyah Mohai netted her 14th league goal of the season followed by Kebeh Lamine’s stunning strike from about 20 yards away from goal. It was her 9th goal of the season.
The weekend result means, Senior Female Pro will now have to win their last two games, but those results won’t help them survive relegation if seventh-placed Hippo FC win their remaining two games.
Things could easier for Hippo. They will face Island Queens and Pro Sisters- the two teams with the worst-defensive record- in their last two games. Nothing else will be more disappointing for Hippo than failing to collect all six points from those games at this closing stage.
On the other hand, Senior Female Pro find themselves in a difficult position as they are set to face tough sides in their remaining games. They will take on Blanco FC in their next match and end the campaign against crowned champions Determine Girls.
