Several representatives of opposition political parties have endorsed Margibi County District #4 candidate for representative, Ben A. Fofana, to contest in the October 10 elections.
Those parties, whose representatives affixed their signatures to the endorsement of the Unity Party lawmaker, are from the Congress for Democratic Change, the All Liberian Party, Liberty Party, the United People Party, Liberia Restoration Party, Union of Liberian Democrats and the True Whig Party TWP.
In their petition statement, they said that the decision to endorse the re-election of Rep. Fofana comes as a result of his enormous efforts in the interest of Liberians, beginning with residents of the district he represents in the legislature.
“Hon. Fofana has been a lawmaker who the citizens will forever remember in the history of this our beloved county,” said a resident during the endorsement ceremony in Kakata.
Liberty Party Margibi County chairperson Albert Sandy said the party is in solidarity with the Unity Party lawmaker, and the interest of the residents.
In response to the petition, Rep. Fofana expressed gratitude “for the action taken by the citizens and representatives of the various political parties.”
He said even though there are many challenges in the district, taking into consideration the overriding need for development, he promised to do due diligence that will meet the needs of the district and its people.
He said for the past six years since he was elected by the people, he along with his team has “worked to mitigate some of those challenges,” but said there was lot more to do.
