Three persons named as Joseph K. Flomo, Sam Bondo and Reynold Richardson have been detained on the orders of the City Court at the Temple of Justice for allegedly withdrawing US$30,000 from the United Bank of Africa (UBA) and converting the money into their personal use.
A fourth suspect, Ansah Boker, who was an employee at UBA, is reported to be on the run and being sought by police.
According to a Writ of Arrest from the City Court, co-defendant Boker, “purposely connived and conspired with co-defendants, Bondo, Richardson and Flomo, using the account of Jokiti Construction and Investment, Inc,” to defraud the bank of US$30,000.
“Through its director, Joseph K. Flomo, out of deception with the intent to steal from the UBA, manipulated the financial system at the bank and defrauded the bank and withdrew, stole and carried away the cash of US$30,000” the court document alleges.
Co-defendant Boker has disappeared since July 11. The court said the alleged act of the defendants is unlawful, wicked, illegal and intentional and is in violation of sections 15.51 and 15.56 of the new penal law of Liberia.
The date for the trial of the defendants is being prepared, the court said.
