With intervention from President Sirleaf, the LV PRASAD Eye Institute based in India agreed to perform the surgery on Friday’s eyes. The management of the JFK hospital and the Indian Counsel General in Liberia, Upjit S. Sachdeva, also played vital roles in the process.
Speaking before their departure, Friday and his father expressed gratitude to President Sirleaf and all individuals and institutions responsible for providing the chance for Friday to receive medical attention abroad. They noted that Friday has lived with the painful condition for a long time, but recognize that this was God’s timing for his healing.
