Liberian Girls Rock (LRG), a non-profit organization is expected to honor eight astute women, especially those who have immensely and meaningfully contributed to Liberian society in diverse sectors of the Country.

LRG was founded in 2014 by a young Liberian Businessman based in Minnesota, the United States of America aimed among other things to shine light on women empowerment, fight hunger including rendering assistance in the Health and Educational sectors of Liberia.

LRG Chief Executive Officer, Eugenic Nice Sr. who spoke to the media recently in Monrovia, named some of the prospective honorees as Culture Ambassador Juli Endi, Children and Women Rights Advocate and designer Humpheretta Reid, Deputy Internal Affairs Minister Paulita CC Wie, Ms. Alicia Wreh, the Dux of the West African Senior Secondary Examination((WASSCE), among others while the face of the honorees and award he said is Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor.

According to him, VP Taylor is the face, role module and a motivational factor for young women in Liberia and across the Globe as such she needs to be recognized and given her flowers while she is still alive.

The annual event, according to the host, will also highlight and recognize the contribution made by other permanent women in Liberian society.

"As an organization geared towards uplifting women in our society, we believe women play an essential role in the nation and every aspect of our lives. We also believe that women are not given the recognition that they deserve," the statement said.

Therefore, LGR said, their organization has been honoring Liberian women in the United States for their meaningful contributions. But this year, we decided to bring it back to our homeland (Liberia).

It will be held on the theme: “fighting hunger, Provide Educational, Medical & Security Assistance to orphanages in West Africa, Liberia.”

"In addition, our mission is simply to change the face of how the rest of the world views Liberians.  We do so by highlighting the movers and shakers of our African communities that have provided tremendous opportunities for other Africans Women to dream. Our 501 © organization highlights the importance of being our sister’s keeper by being committed and accountable for ensuring that no child in Liberia is affected by hunger. We believe together we are stronger and that a village can raise a child," the statement said.

Meanwhile, the organization's 6th Annual Honoring Awards Gala is slated for December 30th, at the Ministerial Complex in Congo Town.
