Liberia: U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for West African Affairs Heath Travels to Liberia

U. S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for West African Affairs, Michael Heath

U. S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for West African Affairs, Michael Heath, will travel to Liberia from September 27-29, 2023. 

According to a release from the United States Embassy near Monrovia, his three-day trip will focus on U.S.-Liberian relations and Liberia’s upcoming national elections on October 10, 2023. During his visit, he will focus on press freedom and countering disinformation, media empowerment, government accountability, civil society, and Liberia’s democratic processes. 

Deputy Assistant Secretary Heath will meet with government officials and civil society organizations, election observation missions, media outlets and press, U.S. exchange alumni, and U.S. diplomatic mission staff. He will also hold a press roundtable event at the  U.S. Embassy.
