Liberia: Pro-Tempore Dedicates US$15K Junior High, Launches TVI in G. Kru

2023, Grand Kru County Senator Albert Tugbe.

.... Vows to transform county

As he looks forward to retaining his Senatorial seat come 2023, Grand Kru County Senator Albert Tugbe Chie is busy putting finishing touches on ongoing projects, while breaking ground for new ones.

According to reports, the people of Grand Kru are said to have regarded the developmental undertakings by their kinsman as reaping what they have planted over the years, and that the Senate Pro-Tempore, Albert T. Chie, is making good on most of his campaign promises.

On his citizen’s engagement tour in the County, Pro-Temp Chie has dedicated a newly erected Junior High school in Belloken as part of his efforts in what he described as supporting the educational needs of young people in that part of the country.

Cutting the ribbon to the new school edifice, Protemp Chie informed the County Superintendent and her officials that it was constructed at the cost of US$15,000 for the people of Belloken.

Turning over the keys to the community, Senator Chie admonished the parents to encourage their children to make use of the facility by remaining in school, adding: “[I] myself came from here, you see today I am in such a position because of the education I got, so please go to school and learn to be like or even more than me.”

In appreciation of his numerous contributions, Belloken residents commended Pro-Temp Chie for being the first amongst all elected officials of the County who has his hand marks in all parts of the County.

In a joint statement from the youth, elders, women and the traditional leaders, the people of Bdelloken pledged fullest support to the re-election bid of Senator Chie, because “he has become the source of unprecedented development across the County.”

Also, as part of his developmental agenda, Pro-Tempore Chie has broken grounds for the construction of a guest house in Topoh. The project, when completed, according to him, will help raise funds for the people of Topoh in Barclayville.

Senator Chie also cut sod for the construction of a Clinic in Willisonville and the construction of a school in Wateken; “these facilities are the foremost priorities of the citizens of said location and I am committed to build them," he added.

Senator Chie has at the same time dedicated a newly built Palava Hut in Andrewville and officially launched the Trehnbo Vocational Institute (TVI) in Behwen City Grand Kru County.

The TVI, which was introduced as a Bill to the Legislature by Senator Chie, was subsequently passed into law and approved by President George Manneh Weah, something he said creates a perfect opportunity for the young people of the County to acquire skills for future benefits.

He used the occasion to commend members of the Grand Kru County Legislative Caucus for their collective efforts for the enactment of the TVI.

Pro-tempore Chie who is in his county for a three-week Easter break, is said to have so far toured the County from the first city of Grand Kru (Nipliakpo) from the Sinoe belt to the last city (Behwen), to Maryland County belt.
