Police in Gbarnga, Bong County, have charged and sent to court a 25-year-old man for allegedly murdering a motorcyclist in the County.

Suspect James Cole, according to the police, murdered Survivor Kamara for his motorcycle and took it away.

Cole is said to have used a cutlass that almost beheaded Kamara as they tussled over the motorcycle.

According to police, Cole had earlier refused to cooperate with law enforcement officers until he was caught with the motorcycle in Negbala Town, where the incident occurred.

“Suspect Cole overpowered the deceased after a prolonged tussle over the motorcycle, and inflicting a deep cutlass wound on Kamara’s neck in the process,” said Fasu  Sheriff,  the Commander of the Bong County Police Detachment.

“The suspect was arrested on July 31 with the stolen bike and had earlier refused to cooperate with law enforcement officers after he had been identified as a suspect.”

Meanwhile, a fifteen-man coroner reported that Kamara died due to a severe cut on the back of his neck.

Elsewhere, in Maryland County, police have charged and sent to court Calvin Saah, a 55-year-old man, for attempted murder and aggravated assault.

According to the police, Saah attempted to murder 21-year-old Levi Wallace, when he stabbed his victim on his left shoulder, which left him with a serious bodily injury.

The police added that their investigation finds that when Wallace fell to the ground, Saah still went after him again, but the victim managed to withhold the cutlass from his hand, which injured his left finger.

During the investigation, Saah informed investigators that the victim, Wallace, approached him to request money. However, Saah said he responded that Wallace was too young to be begging for money. In response, the victim allegedly insulted Saah, leading him to instruct Wallace to leave his premises.

“As Wallace was in the process of departing from Saah’s property, an altercation ensued. Allegedly, Saah intentionally grabbed a cutlass and pursued Wallace, ultimately resulting in the victim sustaining a stab wound to his left arm,” the police investigation finds.

“Subsequently, Calvin Saah has acknowledged the allegations against him and has been formally charged. He is now set to face trial following his arraignment in court,” the investigation report said.
