Liberia: Orange Celebrates 5th Year Anniversary with Explosive Free Concerts

Nimba, Margibi, Grand Bassa, and Montserrado Counties came alive this month as thousands of residents turned out to enjoy free musical concerts held to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the arrival of Orange in Liberia.

Sponsored by Orange Liberia and organized by Billikon Entertainment, the concerts brought together a host of Liberia’s most talented and poplar musicians including Cjay, Anitriam, MC, Caro, J. Slaught, Stunna, Natif, Boifatty, CIC, Teddyride, Soul Fresh, Kpanto, Vero, Killerbeats, Young Zee, Pills, and Kobazzie.    It also included special performances and appearances by John Flomo, EJK the Comedian, Romeo and Miss Billikon.

Orange Liberia’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer Mr. Julien Paquier explained that the company had made the decision to celebrate its 5th anniversary by connecting young people with something they cared about.  “Music is something that young people around the world are drawn to,” explained Mr. Paquier, “we also have so many talented young musicians in Liberia and rather than simply going out and hiring international artists to come and perform, we decided to give a national platform to young Liberian musicians.”

The musical tour was held in different venues on different dates.  The Nimba County show took place on May 6th, the Margibi County show took place in Kakata city on May 8th, the Grand Bassa concert was held on May 13th in Buchanan while the grand finale was held on May 22nd at the Stephen Tolbert Estate in Monrovia.

Thousands of excited fans and well-wishers attended each show.   Onlookers expressed gratitude to Orange Liberia for hosting the show.   “Times are challenging right now, so we are grateful to the Orange family for giving us the chance to relieve our stress,” said one gleeful concert attendee.
