Liberia: Nmah-Clarke Humanitarian Group Reaches 490 Families with Festive Gifts

On Saturday, December 23, the Nmah-Clarke Family Humanitarian Aid, Inc (NCFHA) carried out its 14th donation milestone, providing food and non-food items to over 490 families in Samukai Town, Logan Town.

This initiative, which has been ongoing since 2017, aims to assist the elderly, children, and people with disabilities in the community. The families received essential items such as rice, dried pepper, red oil, vegetable oil, seasoning cubes, salt, charcoal, bathing and washing soaps, clothes, footwear, socks, and toiletries, as well as cooked food, water, and soft drinks.

Additionally, they were provided with mentholated balm, vaseline, lotions, perfumes, and beddings to cater to their specific needs, especially in colder and drier environments. In addition to these regular donations, the NCFHA has established a free computer and Research Center in Logan Town to support its educational program.

The center also offers a feeding program, providing hot meals to more than 250 children every Saturday since December 2018. The children also engage in puzzle games, followed by a rewarding meal on the last Friday of each month.

Expressing deep gratitude, Ma Jugbeh Sumo, who is 69 years old, thanked the Nmah and Clarke families, hoping for continued blessings from God. She also requested assistance in providing scholarships for their children's college education.

Similarly, Tetee Morris emphasized the need for scholarships while appreciating the food and clothing provided during the July 26 and Christmas seasons.

Mr. Sartiah Wisseh, another elderly beneficiary, expressed gratitude to God and appealed for Assistive Devices or Mobility Aids such as wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, canes, and crutches to support individuals with disabilities in the community.

The Nmah-Clarke Family Humanitarian Aid, Inc. is a US-based charity organization founded by Liberian philanthropists, Mrs. Tuwroh Nmah Clarke and Mr. Delano Clarke. The group’s mission, it said, is to help the underprivileged, focusing primarily on providing relief to children and the elderly in Liberia since 2016.

The Operational Manager of NCFHA-Liberia, Madam Panneh Nmah, explained that the bi-annual donations are intended to ensure that no one goes hungry or without clothing during the Christmas and New Year celebrations. In addition to these efforts, the organization also provides educational supplies to schools, and health materials to hospitals, and installs hand pumps in various communities to improve access to clean water. The Nmah-Clarke Humanitarian Group continues to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need, fulfilling its mission to support the underprivileged in Liberia.
