The Liberia International Ship and Corporate Registry (LISCR), a long time partner of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, on Wednesday presented a huge consignment of trophies and medals valued US$6,000 to the ministry for the ongoing Intra-governmental & agency tournament.

The Intra-Governmental Tournament is an annual sports program organized by the Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Youth and Sports and played among employees of the three branches of government (Legislature, Judiciary, and Executive).

The consignment includes four big-sized trophies for four disciplines (football, basketball, kickball and volleyball), 450 medals (150 gold, 150 silver, 150 bronze), 24 individual awards and 2,000 ribbons.

Presenting the materials at LISCR’s headquarters in Monrovia, Mr. Abraham Avi  Zaidenberg, CEO of LISCR, recalled the strong partnership that has existed between his institution and the Ministry of Youth and  Sports. He said his institution takes pleasure in giving back to society, particularly through sports.

Mr. Zadenbecg also thanked President George M. Weah for giving LISCR the opportunity to help Liberians over the years in various sectors.

LISCR has been a leading sponsor of the country’s biggest sporting festival, the national county sports meet.

During the last edition, the shipping company also donated a huge consignment of trophies and medals to the ministry for the tournament.

Receiving the donation, Youth and Sports Deputy Minister for Sports, G. Andy Quamie, praised LISCR for the donation and recounted the institution’s numerous support to the ministry over the years.

At the same time, Deputy Minister Quamie is appealing to LISCR for the reintroduction of the LISCR Trust Tournament since this year is Liberia’s Bicentennial.
