Liberia: LACC Probes NEC Commissioners

The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission has announced a probe of the National Elections Commission in connection with the lease of 20 facial recognition thermometers at the cost of US$182,320.

The LACC decision comes after the Daily Observer newspaper reported that NEC was leasing twenty pieces of facial recognition thermometers from Tuma Enterprises at the total cost of US$182,320.

The investigation will commence on Friday, November 19, 2021.
