Liberia: “God Has Given Ecobank Great Success”

— Mensah-Asante tells employees at the bank’s annual thanksgiving service

The managing director of Ecobank Liberia, George Mensah-Asante, has every reason to show appreciation and gratitude to God for the smooth running of the bank during the year 2022.

Mensah-Asante said that God has given Ecobank great success for the past five (5) years since they introduced the annual Thanksgiving service, and this is our testimony.

His remark, contained in a speech delivered during the Bank’s annual thanksgiving service on Sunday, January 29, Mensah-Asante expressed excitement about the gathering, adding that, “we all can come together as Ecobankers to show appreciation to God, who has established his success seat in our midst.”

The thanksgiving service is part of Ecobank Liberia's efforts to express appreciation to God for His Protection and Favour to the staff and customers throughout the year. The service was held at the Harvest Intercontinental Church, located in Congo Town.

Mensah-Asante charged all and sundry to put in their best to ensure that all strategic initiatives and targets, as well as financial performance, are achieved in 2023.

“This brings to bear the revelation in Psalm 126:1-3, which says, 'When the Lord brought back the captives to Zion, we were like men who dreamed.'

He added: “As the head of the Great institution, “I charge you all to 'Arise, Shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.'”

“Indeed, we are filled with joy. Today, we are counted among successful affiliates of the Ecobank Group. Ours has been from grass to grace, and we owe this to God alone, who trains our hands to war and crowns us with the victory he has already won for us,” he noted.

Mensah-Asante told the bank's employees that as they thank God for the success of the bank, they should also be cognizant of the fact that he spared their lives, and that of their families.

He said: “We are particularly thankful for the successes of 2022, as we were able to exceed our targets despite the competitive environment and that is not something we should take lightly, noting that it is not just the hard work or superior strategy or our skill set that gave us these good results. Indeed, it is the hand of God and that is why we have come to give him ALL the Glory.”

Mensah-Asante told the employees that he is hopeful for 2023; and hope does not disappoint.

Concluding, he said that in 2023, God will keep them alive in good health! He will equip them with knowledge, strength, and diligence to keep their lamp burning throughout in anticipation of another year of mind-blowing success.

Meanwhile, the event was super-charged with prayers and words of inspiration from Bishop Wolo Belleh, of the Harvest Intercontinental Church.
