Former Freeport FC forward, Frank Allison, has joined Israeli’s second-tier club, Hapoel Ramat Gan, after impressing club officials during his try-outs, journalist T Kla Wesley has reported.

Hapoel Ramat Gan Givatayim F.C. is an Israeli football club from Ramat Gan and Givatayim, cities in Israel, located east of Tel Aviv.

After an impressive league season with Freeport FC in the Orange 1st division league, Allison departed Liberia in July for the try-out.

The length of his contract with the Ramat Gan is undisclosed at the moment. He is the second Liberian after Chauncy Freeman signed by the club in the last three years.

“It’s an honor to have signed for one of the biggest clubs in the Israeli 2nd league and [I] can’t wait to get started at Hapoel Ramat Gan Givatayim,” Allison said.

Despite Freeport FC missing out on last season’s championship, Allison proved phenomenal for his former club.

He recorded seven goals and seven assists, helping the team to maintain the top spot on the league table before slipping to the eleventh and eventually losing the championship to Watanga FC.

Allison came to the spotlight during the 2020/21 National County Sports Meet, when he represented Maryland County, then a player for 3rd division side Great Anita FC in the Maryland Sub-Association league.

At the end of his debut season with Freeport FC, Allison was voted “Fans’ New Signing” of the season due to his outstanding performance.

He later got a call-up to Liberia’s U20 and senior national teams.
