LPRC Oilers were defeated 2-1 by Muscat FC in midweek action in the 2022 Orange first division league at the Tusa Field in Gardnersville, after Muscat FC rallied from a goal down.

With 11 points from seven games and the victory, Muscat rose to the fifth spot in the league standings.

The former second-division side continue to make their presence known in the first division despite being a newcomer to the top tier league.

The LPRC Oilers took the lead in the league, thanks to a close-range goal from Trokon Jackson in the bottom-right corner of the first half. However, Muscat responded in the opening 15 minutes of the second half, thanks to an outstanding free-kick goal from Arku Morris. 

Both teams had a few opportunities, with Muscat making the most attempts in the second half. In the 90+6 second of the seven additional seconds of time, Emmanuel Gono’s penalty kick gave Muscat the victory they desired.

Positions for both teams may change after this weekend’s round 7 matches, which will be played at various venues.
