Liberia; Conex Foundation and Paynesville City Corporation Launch City Sanitation and Awareness Project

The Conex and PCC project will focus on city beautification, youth empowerment, climate resilience, flood risk mitigation, and the cleaning up of four major routes, drainages, and the surrounding area.

The Conex Foundation and the Paynesville City Corporation, on Thursday, October 26, launched a four-week sanitation and awareness project at the E.L.W.A. Junction. Several communities in the Paynesville municipality will benefit from this extensive cleaning project.

The project will focus on city beautification, youth empowerment, climate resilience, flood risk mitigation, and the cleaning up of four major routes, drainages, and the surrounding area. The routes include ELWA Junction to R2 Junction, Redlight (Access Bank) to Double Bridge, ELWA Junction to Parker Paint, and Duport Road to Red Light.

Mayor Taylor informed the group of the challenges faced by the city while thanking Conex for the support.  She also stated that 100 unemployed youths would be empowered with short-term employment for the project.
