Liberia: Bloom Bank Liberia Leads Physical Walk for Healthier Workforce

As part of its commitment to ensuring the health and wellness of its staff, Bloom Bank Africa Liberia Limited organized a physical walk aimed at promoting awareness of the bank and fostering physical fitness among its employees and customers.

The walk commenced early on Saturday morning, February 10, 2024, starting from its Bushrod Island branch at 7 am. Staff and customers of the bank paraded through the streets of Monrovia, making their way to the head office on 5th Street in Sinkor.

Mr. Olalekan A. Balogun, Managing Director of Bloom Bank Africa Liberia Limited, emphasized that the walk was intended to cultivate a healthy workforce and ensure that employees are physically fit while serving customers.

“We initiated this physical walk to ensure that our staff members are healthy. We cannot afford to have unhealthy individuals working with us,” Mr. Balogun remarked.

He highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy workforce in supporting and promoting the bank's brand. “To effectively represent and promote our brand, we need a workforce that is both healthy and physically fit,” he added.

Mr. Balogun underscored the significance of regular exercise, especially in an industry like banking that demands energy and vitality. He stressed that physical well-being is often overlooked compared to spiritual and social aspects of life, and the initiative aimed to address this gap by fostering a physically active work environment.

The CEO announced plans to institutionalize the physical walk as a policy within the bank, with staff participating every three months to maintain fitness levels. He emphasized the importance of healthy employees in delivering quality service to customers.

“The core message of today’s physical walk is the need for a healthy society, benefiting both our staff and customers,” Mr. Balogun affirmed.

Daniel Wolo, Treasurer of Bloom Bank Africa Liberia Limited, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the bank's commitment to its core values and its desire to engage with the Liberian community. He highlighted the significance of the uniformed parade in conveying a message of trust and reliability to the public.

“We embarked on this physical walk to raise awareness about our bank and reach out to unbanked communities,” Wolo stated.

The physical walk marked another milestone for the financial institution, following its recent transition from Global Bank to Bloom Bank Africa (Liberia) Limited.

This rebranding reflects the bank’s dedication to delivering tailored banking solutions to drive prosperity in Liberia, aligning with its strategic direction under Oakwood Holdings Liberia Limited (OHLL).
