With the ever emerging attention and critical praise coming out of Liberia’s Hip-Co music industry, more and more talented music fanatics have begun to participate in what they see as being ‘their’ big break into the music market; and getting paid.
During the successful F Dot A Dot ‘Desire concert’ on March 15 at Bernard’s Beach, LIB Life had the opportunity to meet Liberia’s youngest Hipo-Co rapper thus far and find out why such a young boy wants to become Liberia’s next star.
“I love rapping,” Ziggy Ray said, nonchalantly.
According to the child star who is notably relaxed, but yet sure of what he wants, he has four- five tracks under his belt with a video mix tape underway and he has his dad to thank.
“I’m Ziggy Ray’s father and also his personal videographer,” says Lorenzo Loveland. “Ziggy Ray’s talent came naturally, I have a studio and he likes to hang out in the studio most of the time. He has been watching artists come in and out and then one day he was like, ‘yo, I want to start my own stuff’. So far he has five songs to his name and a awesome video mix tape.”
There’s more to come with this 7-year old who stands just over four feet tall, but has swag like one who has already won some awards.
LIB Life will keep you posted on his next move, as we are sure he has many more to make.
