The Runway Liberia pre-launch soiree, one of the biggest fashion events to hit Liberia in recent year, is just two days away (Saturday, April 22) with several noteworthy designs ready to glam up the runway.
The show is not just a big event that will meet international standards, but one that will host some of the biggest names in the fashion business in Africa, who will introduce their latest collections, according to the organizer, Junda Morris-Kennedy.
Top designers Papa Ngala of Senegal and the FKK International Designs team from Togo, just to name few, are among the top designers expected to present their collections at the event.
On the other hand, Chris Collins, a Liberian fashion designer who has designed for President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has already booked to exhibit his collections.
Apart from Chris Collins, Meskora Amoussou, who is known for high-end clothing for women, will be showcasing her new collections at the event.
“Ready-to-wear lines of cocktail and lace dresses, which enhance the feminine physique with clean and classic cuts mostly made from fabric or splashes of color and luxury silks and laces, will be in abundance,” said organizer Junda Morris-Kennedy.
In addition, Morris-Kennedy said the Runway Liberia pre-launch soiree will feature many high-fashion designs on display ranging from amazing African wear to the new trends in western designs, like fabric jumpsuits, to gorgeous coats in dark hues, as well as accessories.
Furthermore, before the show ends, award winning rapper Scientific and other Liberian ace performers will perform to end your night on a good note, she added.
The show will be going down at Destiny Entertainment Center on the Bypass, and will open with African street style. “The street style is intended for people to come dress in a fashionable and chic manner meant to show the world Liberia’s fashion style,” she said.
The show kicks off at 7pm, and will last for two hours. Entrance fees start at US$20.
