A Poem for Sierra Leone

Reaching high into the sky
Magnificently rising up out of the landscape with vitality & wealth
In a flash of a moment, her vision blurred, her sky gray
Ribs cracking, there’s a landslide tearing down her walls
The fickleness of nature forcing her to hide
Silence everywhere, her blooming City, now a gravesite
Out of the wreckage rose a LILY to touch her heart
Kindle her soul and heal her wound
