Little Angel Beauty Festival (LABFest), a children reality show, kicked off season two of the competition five days ago with eleven contestants vying for the crown.

Expected to run for eight weeks, this year’s competition is held under the theme ‘Releasing the Spirit of Excellence,’ with activities including gospel music and cultural displays.

The Liberia National Television (LNTV) will air the Christian reality show live.

Thrilling the crowd with her fantastic modeling skills, LABFest reigning queen Angel A. Norman noted that the reality show not only offer children the opportunity to display their talents, it also serves as a place that teaches them some of life’s basic principles necessary for human development.

“LABFest taught me a lot about myself and the world at large. The competition brought out my hidden talent as well as sharpening my skills. Since then my public speaking skills have improved, helping me establish a better relationship with my peers.

“To the contestants, I wish you all success; however, remember that beauty is not only about your appearance. It is also about what is in your head; therefore, it is necessary that you put in extra time for practice to emerge victorious.

“To the contestant again, I will like to disclose that eviction from the competition is done every week until the winner is crowned. It is up to you now to do your best,” Miss Norman said.

For his part, the show’s chief organizer, Richlue O. Burphy, said the reality show exists to reinforce the value of education towards a successful life and the important role morality plays in building a healthy society.

“From this year and upward contestants will be staying at the academy house, where they will undergo training and other activities that are part of the competition.

“We have put in all necessary measure to make sure that this year’s event becomes more than a success,” Mr. Burphy said.

Partners for LABFest include ProDesigns; Mind’s Mind Multimedia; Liberia Broadcasting System; Radio Monrovia; Radio Bethel; Radio Advent; ELWA Radio; and Liberty Radio.
