Liberian international Hip-Co rapper, Jon Bricks and chinese superstar Zheng Zheng left fans thrilled at the end of the first night of the duo’s three-day “Diva Dream Alive” concert series in Liberia for his new album, accented by the perfect chemistry in their performance.
As Jon Bricks was called on stage the fans shouted, “give to us Zama classic. We deserved it, we want nothing less them the performance promised.”
Just as the audience requested, Jon Bricks did not only rock the stage well but his stage performance was epic as well. But the show drew more excitement when Bricks started to perform sone of his older hits from years back, featuring Liberian star Alonzo, including ‘Awoo na wa’.
“Today we all are celebrating my ten years in the music arena together and I must admit that is nice being associated with great people like you,” Jon Bricks told his fans.
When Chinese superstar Zheng Zheng came on stage, the audience went wild. It was difficult for anyone to even remain in their position without shaking their body.
It was not only the chemistry between the two that made their performance great, but the blend of Liberian colloqua and Chinese language was the exraditonary moment that stole the night. Zheng Zheng opened his performances with an electric guitar and joined Jon Bricks to perform ‘Off and On’ Remix as well as ‘I’m Still Hip-Co.’
Taking a break during his set, Zheng Zheng told LIB Life said through an interpreter “It is pleasure for me to interact with so many fantastic fans for the first time. I feel great coming to Liberia, most especially to celebrate with my brother and friend Jon Bricks. I’m honored cause this is my first trip to Africa. I think Liberia is a beautiful and peaceful place, I do see a lot of love from the fans on social media, I think they are good people.”
The show was a full house event and allowed fans to get autographs, take photos on the red carpet with the two stars and get some fabolous prizes.
“This was the first time he ever performed these songs live in Liberia following his China tour,” his local manager said, adding that the reaction from fans was just what you would expect.
Liberia’s only DJ Nelly, whose mixes currently are played on on international Be100! Radio online, was the one that rocked the whole night.
Day 2 of the Diva Dream Alive concert series is at Royal Plus International in Paynesville on Saturday, February 13; admission is US$5. Day 3 will go down at Bernard’s beach on February 14, Valentine’s Day; admission is L$300.
