Sensational Liberia artist Daniel George, affectionately known as DenG, has won the “Best Artist and Song of the year Award” at the just ended 7th edition of the Liberian Entertainment Award (LEA) on Saturday February 21.
LEA is an accolade awarded for Liberian’s at home and in the Diaspora for their outstanding contribution to the Liberia entertainment industry.

Expressing gratitude to fans and all those that voted for him, DenG appreciated them for their support and encouragement.
“I feel a sense of accomplishment in winning the two best awards when it comes to music. Winning the LEA has motivated and inspired me to work harder,” he added,” Now I’m thinking about doing classical musical this year, as well as international collaboration. I pray that God gives me long life and strength to endure.”
Meanwhile, the home-based Liberian coloqua musician has been the only person to win double LEA musical awards.
“I received an invitation from LEA but the time frame was relatively short, so my manager and brand ambassador had to receive the awards on my behalf. Having won the awards has made it my duty to improve the quality of my music, including sounds and video, for my fans and all those who are supporting my musical career one way or the other,” he added.
According to the “They Vex” hit maker, he will resume work on his new project when his engineer sets up his new studio.
Competing for the “Best Artist” category was DenG, Munnah (LIB Princess), David Mell, Jodi Clarke and G-Rize.
For the “Song of the Year” category were hits such as “They Vex”, by DenG, “Celebration”, by Munnah, “You too much,” by Peter G; “Bassim-Bassim”, by Togar Howard (who won best new artist) and “Trouble Marker”, by Raw Pekin ft FEJ.
According to DenG, he signed up for Novafone as their brand ambassador, adding that the contract was initiated on January 27, 2015. Although he would not disclose his salary, the contract is rewarding.
“The contract came about when Emmanuel Kailie, Novafone marketing department, told me that they were proud of my career and would like for me to be their brand ambassador in marketing their products,” he shared.
According to an anonymous source, the contract is worth US$ 18,OOO, one cell phone, a monthly data package and scratch cards, among others. The source further said that DenG receives a monthly salary based on the contract terms and that he is about to purchase for himself a brand new car soon.
