The search for Liberia’s representative at the Next Movie Star reality television show is expected to kickoff soon, with the first major audition slated for this weekend.
Versatile actor E. Owusu Dahnsaw, who represented Liberia last year and emerged as the 3rd runner-up, Most Photogenic Competitor, said the audition is meant to promote transparency in finding the right person to represent Liberia at the prestigious event in Nigeria this year.
“It is only through an audition that the talented persons can be selected as well as giving everyone the opportunity to participate. We believe in transparency, so there will be no foul play to have anyone qualified for the second audition.
“Trust me, the judges are competent enough and all necessary measures have been instituted to avoid cheating. I believe in talent, because it is talent that made me today,” Dahnsaw, who also won the Mr. Game Changer title last year, said.
He added that the first audition is slated for 10 a.m. Saturday, September 24, at Shisha Café in Buzzy Quarter, and that forms are on sale for US$10 and can be picked up at the following locations: Hott Fm, Royal Plus, Bafana Bafana, and Shisha Café.
A 30-day reality TV show, the Next Movie Star is centered on discovering, nurturing and promoting new actors for the African entertainment industry.
Since its beginning years ago the reality television has improved a lot at discovering and promoting stars like Tonto Dike, Annie Idibia, Kelvin Chung Pam, Portia Yamahan, Queen V, VJ Adams, Uti Nwachukwu, Martha Ankormah and a lot more.
Liberians between the ages of 18 to 35 years old are eligible to audition for a chance to be part of the team the will represent Liberia at this year’s Next Movie Star Super Charged in Nigeria.
