LFA 2021/22 Knockout Cup Draw Made

The draw for the 2021/22 LFA Knockout Cup has been held with 18 teams drawn in the first round of the men’s category slated for December 1, 2021.
Sponsored by one of Liberia’s leading petroleum dealers for the past one year, the knockout cup is an annual competition in the Liberian league.
The competition was named the “PetroTrade Cup” during the last edition, but it’s still unclear whether Petro Trade and the FA have reached an agreement for the extension of the deal, as no official announcement has been made.
Both institutions signed a L$13M sponsorship deal in 2019 for a duration of a year.
Twenty five clubs in the first and second divisions, excluding Gardnersville FC, a feeder club to LISCR FC, will participate in the 2021/22 edition of the competition.
According to Chapter 4, Article 1, Section 3.0 (a) of the 2021/22 Orange National league rules and regulations, “Quarter Finalists of the previous edition of the competition shall be seeded for the round of 16.
Quarterfinalists of the previous edition include LISCR FC, Watanga FC, Muscat FC, Monrovia Club Breweries, Tony FC, Nimba Kwado FC, B. Mountain and Keitrace FC that are out of this year’s edition due to their relegation to the 3rd division league.
Monrovia Club Breweries are the title holders after defeating Watanga FC 2-1 in the last final.

At the same time, the draw for the women’s category was also hosted with seven clubs seeded for the round of 16.
The First Round will kick off on December 8, while the date for the one preliminary match will be decided.
The seeded clubs include champions Earth Angels, Sr. Female Professionals, Determine Girls, World Girls, Soccer Ambassadors, Blanco and Ambassadors FC.
