Jahmale Hosts International Medical and Surgical Referral Camp April 15-19

Jahmale medical camp

Four medical doctors are in Liberia this week from India, courtesy of a partnership between Jahmale Medical Solutions and India’s Ruby Hall Clinic, for a five-day medical and surgical referral camp. Held at Jahmale’s headquarters located at the ELWA Junction, Paynesville from April 15-19, 2024, the visiting doctors will serve patients in need of advanced medical and/or surgical attention relating to cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, or urology.

Up to Wednesday, April 10, the doctors conducted prescreening for patients ahead of consultations next week. Nevertheless, prospective participants must come along with their complete medical records inclusive of their most recent imaging scans and lab results and will be screened in person on the same day.

During the course of the medical camp patients can expect to be seen by doctors who have seen and worked on hundreds of thousands of patients over their careers. The doctors also have experience in new technology and can give some insight or can notice things immediately that other doctors may not. They will diagnose, prescribe medication, and give a suggested course of action to correct or treat a problem.

The visiting specialists from Ruby Hall Clinic are renowned in their respective fields of practice. Dr. Purvez K. Grant, Chief Cardiologist conducted India’s first angioplasty workshop, laying the foundation for groundbreaking advancements in cardiac care. With his assistance, Ruby Hall Clinic has an astonishing track record and has successfully completed over 400,000 angiographies, 100,000 angioplasties, and 80,000 open-heart surgeries, including nearly 30 heart transplants.

Dr. Randhir Kenjale, Senior Orthopedic Surgeon, is a renowned Orthopedist who brings more than 10 years of expertise to Ruby Hall Clinic. He specializes in joint and spine replacement surgeries. He is passionate and has published multiple papers in regional, national, and international journals. As a postgraduate Orthopedic lecturer, he spends significant time training doctors of tomorrow.

Dr. Bhooshan Zade, Senior Oncology Specialist, has pioneered 4D CT based Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy for lung and liver tumors at Ruby Hall Clinic. He started a treatment for difficult female genital tract cancers. He has a keen interest in treatment of extreme breast cancer and cardiac sparing radiotherapy using challenging techniques. He is also part of the bone marrow transplant unit.

Dr. Himesh Gandhi, Chief Robotic Uro-Oncosurgeon, has performed more than 500 robotic cancer surgeries for Urological cancers and he is a pioneer for starting a robotic surgeries program at Ruby Hall Clinic. He has made groundbreaking efforts to upscale cancer management and is a certified member of both the American and European Association of Urology.

According to Jahmale, the oncologist, urologist, and orthopedic specialists have a few spots remaining. The medical camp registration fee is US$50.00 and does not include diagnostic test, surgery or medication.  Spaces are limited, and those interested can call the following numbers to book an early appointment: 0881603048 or 0775603037; or email: info@jahmalemedical.org.

Jahmale has been working on partnerships both within and outside of Liberia to improve the overall healthcare that Liberians have access to. The medical center hopes to open a channel of ease for people who are interested in healthcare or surgeries that are not performed in Liberia.

Through its extensive connections, Jahmale also hopes to foster networking and knowledge sharing opportunities between medical students in the country and visiting medical specialists.
