Fire Victims Appeal for Help

A widow and her five children who suffered losses in a fire that destroyed their dwelling place in the Thinkers Village Community, Montserrado County District #6, are appealing to humanitarian groups and individuals including the District Representative Samuel Enders and Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel F. McGill to come to their aid.

The fire incident, the cause of which is yet to be established, occurred on Monday, July 5, at about 12 a.m.

Sonnie Jallah, the victim, praised God that none of her children sustained injury during the fire outbreak that gutted their three-bedroom zinc house, destroying all their possessions.

Sonnie, her daughter and four sons occupied the three-bedroom house with no other property to rely on.

“The house was on fire around 12 a.m., while they were asleep,” she said.

“I noticed the fire from the boys’ room and so I quickly called the children and managed to escape before the fire could enter other parts of the house, and I am so grateful to God that my children and I survived the fire,” Sonnie narrated.

“We lost everything in the house including our clothes, and have no money to restart our lives. I therefore need help to restart and build the house.

“And I appeal to everybody, including Representative Enders and Minister McGill to come to our rescue to rebuild our house,” Sonnie pleaded.
