The Right Rev. Jonathan B.B. Hart, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Liberia, was Thursday, May 1, elected archbishop of the Internal Province of West Africa.
The election took place at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Bishop Hart succeeds Archbishop Tilewa Johnson, who recently died of a heart attack in his native Banjul, The Gambia.
As archbishop, Bishop Hart will preside over the dioceses of Bo and Freetown in Sierra Leone, and the dioceses of Guinea, The Gambia, Cameroon and Liberia.
