The administrators of the John F. Kennedy Medical Center (JFKMC) in Sinkor, Monrovia, have announced that it is going to host a “big Christmas party” for children on December 24th and 25th respectively.
The hospital’s administration said children from the surrounding communities and those admitted at the hospital would be featured while at the party. According to them, this will be a form of therapy to boost the admitted kids’ health condition.
According to Mr. Daylue Goah, Communication Specialist at the Hospital, the hospital is doing this in order to raise funds for the upkeep of the new pediatric ward on the hospital’s third floor.
“Currently, the hospital is catering to hundreds of pediatric patients both from its out patients department (OPD) and emergency section free of charge,” Mr. Goah told the Daily Observer, Thursday.
However, the free-of-charge status only affects kids under five and it doesn’t matter how long that child under five stays in the hospital.
“So we are encouraging everyone who has a special place for children in their heart to visit the hospital on the 24th and 25th of December and make a donation for the upkeep of the pediatric ward,” Mr. Goah added.
In preparation of the two days, the management of JFK Hospital flew in Mr. Mickey Mouse, who paraded the newly opened pediatric ward of the JFK Hospital, Thursday. Mickey interacted with the kids, who danced along with him to beautiful kids songs.
