A students group under the banner, Global Youth and Students United for Peace (GYSUP), has called on residents of Montserrado County’s Electoral District #14 to re-elect the current Representative, Abraham V. Corneh, for his contribution to the district’s development agenda.
The group’s call was contained in a press statement they issued yesterday in Monrovia following a series of meetings with the residents.
Ishmael Koffeh, Executive Director of GYSUP, said since the ascendency of Rep. Corneh to that post in 2011, he has ably represented the district as a true leader of the people.
“Rep. Corneh has provided oversight and offered views geared toward the development of the district,” said Koffeh.
He recounted the establishments of a modern and conducive market site for hundreds of marketers, Vamuco Market, located in Vai Town, and the hosting of annual academic competitions among schools in the district.
Mr. Koffeh stated how Rep. Corneh is also helping youth of the district by awarding scholarships to deserving students to pursue higher education.
The group further recounted the experienced and mature methods the business tycoon turned politician applied and successfully fought against the Ebola virus disease (EVD) and other crises that afflicted residents of District #14.
