Authorities at the MOE yesterday launched the Code of Conduct for teachers and school administrators across the country.
The Code of Conduct, which was launched in the conference room of the ministry in Monrovia, is being hosted on the theme, “Transforming the Education System.”
The exercise is one of measures undertaken by the MOE to build a disciplined teaching force that is professional. Its development is in consonance with objectives of the Education Reform Act of 2011, which seeks to promote and sustain public confidence in the Educational System. It is further to promote and protect the concept of human rights for all Liberians, both with respect to access and opportunities for quality education.
The Code of Conduct serves as a guide and provides the acceptable behavior for all teachers, school administrators and staff. It stipulates the acceptable behavior in carrying out their professional duties and responsibilities in and out of the school and classroom, among other things.
The launch of the exercise brought together stakeholders in the educational sectors.
