Mrs. Rhonda von Ballmoos, Secretary General of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority (AKA), has disclosed that over 2,000 tickets have been sold so far in the raffle draw to complete the Omega Market building.

Madam von Ballmoos said the support they are receiving from Liberians towards the project is fascinating and urged them to continue to buy more tickets ahead of the final raffle draw.

“If such a strong support from the public continues we will be able to sell all the tickets before the draw on December 31,” Madam von Ballmoos said.

She made the remarks on Thursday, December 24 at the fourth raffle draw held at the Paynesville City Hall, which produced 37 winners with prizes ranging from U$100, five 50-pound bags of rice and a two-day weekend stay in a luxury suite with breakfast, buffet and dinner for two.

“To ensure fairness we want everyone who wants to take part to go to the project site and see the level of work that is being done so they can know that the sisterhood is serious about this project,” Madam von Ballmoos said.

She said that the project comprises three market buildings, of which two have been completed, with the main building still under construction.

“Any amount we generate from ticket sales goes directly to the market project because we want it to finish on time,” Madam von Ballmoos added.
