The Management of Golden Veroleum Liberia (GVL) has promoted two female Liberian staff to administrative levels.
Miss Brenda Howard and Miss Isaline Kollie were promoted to the positions of Administrative Manager and Administrative Assistant respectively, on December 1, 2014. They are both stationed at GVL’s Monrovia office in Sinkor.
According to GVL, the elevation of the two Liberians is in keeping with the company’s commitment to raise their employees, particularly competent Liberians, to higher managerial positions.
As Administrative Manager, Miss Howard is charged with the responsibility of supervising the daily activities at the company’s Monrovia office. She is also responsible to train junior staffers and process expatriates’ documents to date, among others.
As for Miss Kollie, her promotion comes with a supervisory role over all drivers and domestic workers assigned at GVL Monrovia office. She is also responsible to ensure the proper usage and maintenance of all company vehicles being used in Monrovia.
Prior to her promotion, Miss Howard ‘honestly and diligently’ served the company in the capacity of Administrative Officer from November 2012 – November 2014; while Miss Kollie was hired in February 2011 as a domestic worker, but was elevated to the post of receptionist in December of the same year.
This is the second time in 12 months that Golden Veroleum has promoted Liberians. In August this year, several Liberians from across GVL operations in Sinoe, Grand Kru and Monrovia were promoted to managerial positions.
