EQUITY Assurance Liberia Limited, incorporated in February 2008 and certificated by the Central Bank of Liberia on March 12, 2014, will today Monday, March 21, celebrate two years of operations in Liberia.
In an exclusive interview with the Daily Observer newspaper over the weekend, Ishola Akintunde, the managing director and chief executive officer expressed gratitude to the government and people of Liberia and to its numerous clients for the cordial and peaceful atmosphere afforded the group to operate in the country.
“Exactly two years ago we embarked on a journey but today we are all happy and proud that the people we provide service to are pleased with what we give them and are responding positively,” Mr. Akintude said.
“We are also happy because we have been able to impact society and render those services to our clients, especially the caliber of clients on our books like the University of Liberia, the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, just to name a few,” he said.
Mr. Akintunde also expressed gratitude to the staff of EQUITY Liberia and indicated that the company has succeeded in managing itself in terms of quality underwriting, prompt payment of claims, and said the company has up to date paid a sizeable number of claims in the areas of death, total-loss and theft.
Regarding property and accident claims which occur in all parts of the country, the company is always on hand to handle liabilities which have made EQUITY familiar with the various police stations and hospitals around the country, Akintunde indicated.
Commenting on the reason behind EQUITY issuing new mobile phones and scratch cards to its clients during the vehicle registration exercise, Akintunde added, “Marketing in general calls for promotion and motivation and what we did was to motivate our clients and today we can proudly say that the exercise is yielding fruit.”
He spoke of EQUITY’s corporate mission to establish an insurance company that would be a reference point in excellence to claims and settlement service, which he said will be achieved through a well- motivated workforce, cutting edge office technology and good business ethics.
“In terms of our service, EQUITY is the best place to come because we are prompt to issues. We have some of our staff in most of the hospitals to promptly attend to our clients,” he said.
