The Corporate Responsibility Forum Liberia (CR Forum) has elected its new Executive Members during its annual meeting held at the RLJ Kendeja Resorts on December 5, 2013.The annual meeting brought together members and stakeholders of various institutions, companies and NGOs respectively. The newly elected members will work with the secretariat of the CR Forum to carry on activities and plans for the ensuing year 2014/2015.
The newly elected Executive Members include ArcelorMittal, BHP Billiton, LBDI Bank, CHICO, Libra Sanitation and Vedanta Western Cluster Limited.
The process of electing the executive members was completed 12th December 2013 during a vital executive meeting call by the Chairman Joseph Mathews. The new chairman of the CR Forum will be elected from these newly executive members during the next executive meeting scheduled for March 2014.
As executive members, these officials are expected to deliberate on issues of responsible investment, good corporate citizenship and collective action for the sustainable development of Liberia.
Officially inaugurated in Monrovia on February 12, 2010 by H.E. Madam Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, President of Liberia, the Corporate Responsibility Forum, Liberia (CR Forum), a private sector initiative, provides a forum for sharing ideas and collaborating on corporate responsibility issues which includes the sharing of lessons, experiences and best practices.
The CR Forum, situated at the Monrovia office of ArcelorMittal, also supports capacity building and good business practices among companies and corporations; provides on-going support and advice for small medium enterprises (SME’s) with regards to good business practices and local economic integration (local supply chain management); and plans to mobilize private sector resources in support of specific government development initiatives.
