Commerce Ministry Begins Quarterly Inspection

The Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MoCI) has announced its quarterly inspection exercise of businesses in the country.

The exercise, which runs from Feb. 8 thru March 3, 2016, is part of the ministry’s regular quarterly inspection.

According to apress statement, the inspection will be supervised by the Bureau of Industrial Services and it is being guided by the MoCI’s General Inspection Guidelines that focus on business registration enforcement, general commodity standards inspection and market surveillance and price monitoring.

It will also cover the mini-marts, supermarkets, grocery stores, cold storage and convenience stores and the verification of the weights and scales measurement of Gas Stations, Supermarkets, Butcher Shops and Scrap Dealers, the statement said.
