Bestowed upon the title "Africa Rural Impact Maker."

The Africa Value Awards has honored Benita Urey for her humanitarian work with the Healing Liberia Foundation.

The awards "pay tribute" to Ms. Urey's commitment to providing medical support and care to struggling families.

The Africa Value Awards is rated as one of the gatherings of the most influential Africans,  aimed at recognizing individuals and organizations who have projected positively the intrinsic values of the African continent, propelled the economic growth, enhanced youth empowerment, community development, educational advancement, humanitarian services, and peaceful coexistence.

Ms. Urey received the "Africa Rural Impact Maker, " as a mark of appreciation for her indelible contributions to humanity. In a celebrity-packed room, with others honorees, Ms. Urey was recognized for her many charitable efforts, which earned her the prestigious honor.

In response, Ms. Urey told the audience that when she helps families, she is not trying to do anything other than meet somebody of their humanity.

"This award is not for me. It’s for Fatu Washington who got a life-changing surgery three weeks ago. It’s for Dr. Bill Davis who is always a call away when any of our patients need help. It’s for Satara Doe who is still at JFK trying to recover from her surgery. It’s for Dr. Freeman who traveled from Malawi just to operate on our patients," Ms. Urey said.

Ms. Urey runs the Healing Liberia Foundation whose job is looking after people who can't afford treatment. Its goal is to respond to the medical needs of people under 25-years who need life-changing surgeries, but can’t afford to pay hospital bills.

Meanwhile, Ms. Urey has committed the plaque award to one of her patients whose name is Orjay Kangar  "who is now walking after 3 years" and to Dr. Caleb Wlue, for helping new mothers live healthier lives in Bong County.

" It’s for the 38 patients we have helped since April 29th. It’s for all of our supporters since we started this journey to help Liberians in 2009. And it is for the people of LIBERIA," Ms. Urey noted. " Thank you so much for believing in the Healing Liberia Foundation.
