Representative Nathaniel Barwah of Grand Kru County was allegedly assaulted by a lady who accused him of a hit-and-run vehicle accident while in the traffic.

The alleged incident took place earlier this morning on the grounds of the Capitol. It came as a result of a traffic commotion between the lawmaker and Makanvee Sheriff, who complained that the Representative hit her car while in the traffic along the Vai Town/Somalia drive route.

Mrs. Sheriff explained that she did what she would do because the lawmaker ignored the fact that he hit her vehicle and drove away immediately. "I followed him here to let him know that he is not above the law when he hit my car and never stopped. That was very wrong," Mrs. Sherrif added.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Sheriff has been arrested by Sergeant-at-Arms Martin Johnson for jerking up the clothes of Rep. Barwah and rained insults on the lawmaker after a "hit-and-run" incident that occurred on the Gabriel Tucker Bridge (popularly known as the New Bridge).

According to eyewitnesses, she grabbed Rep. Barwah from the back of his coat suit and attempted to slap him before being stopped. Rep. Barwah then became shocked and asked his security detail to throw her out of his office but she refused, demanding that the lawmaker must fix her car.

Mrs. Sheriff was arrested for physically and emotionally assaulting the Grand Kru County District #1 Representative. However, Mrs. Sheriff argued that she intended to teach the lawmaker a lesson for being arrogant.. In the end, the Plenary of the House of Representatives got involved and instructed Capitol Security to arrest Mrs. Sheriff and have her imprisoned at the Monrovia Central Prison pending an investigation on the matter.

However, Ms. Sheriff was handcuffed and taken to the prison but released due to the lack of a commitment note from the lower House. As it stands, Ms. Sheriff, her presumed husband, and another person are currently in the office of the sergeant-at-arms pending the Plenary's decision on the matter. The lady in question also allegedly choked Rep. Barwah after she had chased him from Vai Town to the Capitol.
