Mr. Joel F. Maybury, Chargé d'Affaires, US Embassy in Monrovia

Mr. Joel F. Maybury, Chargé d'Affaires at the US Embassy in Monrovia, said, “Having a Career path is an honest way to earning a living, whether it is a small business, in the public sector or in the informal sector. It is honorable to pursue and so I want to congratulate all of you here today.”

Mr. Maybury acknowledged that while it is true that there are challenges, it was also a wonderful strategy for addressing the challenges.

Mr. Maybury said: “Economic growth as we all know is a central development challenge that is facing Liberia and to achieve this goal, my government, through USAID, has developed programs to promote economic growth in Liberia. These efforts should also translate into job creation, especially for women and youth in Liberia.” I want to congratulate all of you today. I am delighted to be part of this program and thanks to the organizers of this program. We also want to thank you for the support to the young men and women who have made decisions on their career paths.
