Sirleaf Welcomes TRC Final Report
MONROVIA – President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has welcomed the final and edited report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).
The President says the Commission has accomplished a great job and lauded its members for their sense of duty in completing an enormous body of work.
The President’s remarks come on the heels of the release of the final and edited version of the Report of the TRC last week.
A press release issued by the Office of the Press Secretary at the Executive Mansion says President Sirleaf has acknowledged the importance of the work done by the TRC and calls on all Liberians to take their time and read the report. She is also calling on legislators who are currently on their agricultural break to discuss every aspect of the report with their constituents in the counties and villages.
The President added that a process is underway to formulate the right strategy for implementing the report, taking into account that national reconciliation, peace and harmony are the cornerstone of any vibrant society.

Good 1st step......
This is a good first step taking to acknowledged the work of the commission, and congratulating the commissioners and all those who participated in the hearings. However, Madam President, the ball is in your court along with members of your government to ensuring that the implementation of the commission's recommendations doesn't turn into the same attitudes given toward corruption and corrupt officials of your government. This is an important piece of document for Liberia.....any delay will mean that the hurt of the Liberian people is not prioritize by your administration.
