Civil Society Groups Question UNMIL

Published:  12 January, 2006

MONROVIA, January 12 -- Three renowned civil society organizations of Liberia and Sierra Leone are conducting a public opinion survey of UNMIL's work in Liberia.

The NAYMOTE-Partners for Democratic Development, Foundation of Human Rights and Democracy of Liberia and Campaign for Good Governance CGG of Sierra Leone are carrying out the exercise, a release from NAYMOTE said.

The survey is a continuation of a study done in Sierra Leone organized by the City College of New York in the United States.

The activities began with the training of trainers' workshop to build the capacity field staff to carryout the survey in six strategic counties in Liberia.

The release said Mrs. Monica J. Timbo, Program Officer of CGG-Sierra Leone, facilitated the workshop. The 10-day survey is being conducted through structured questionnaire similarly used in Sierra Leone.
