The essential role that books play in the academic lifeline of any nation cannot be overemphasized. Lately, the American people, through their president, George W. Bush, saw the need to give the Liberian academic community one million books. His gesture from the American people will certainly go a long way in lubricating the academic wheel of our dear country.
