It may be a who's who in Liberian music or perhaps Liberia's style of 'Grammy' award, as on Saturday April 19, 2008, the ballroom of Monrovia City Hall will play host to a musical award for leading musical groups that the organizers said 'have inspired or touched the lives of people through their musical career'.
SATCOM Studio, a local, Liberian-owned studio is organizing these awards. Mr. Steve Tequah is head of SATCOM. He told the Daily Observer at the weekend that on the night, they intend to 'honor musical groups, individual artistes and choirs who have been successful in the Liberian musical industry by making significant impact on our society'.
Liberian musicians have of late impacted the lives of the Liberian people, especially gospel musical artistes like Marion Cassell and the Little White Chapel Choir that have had patriotic songs sung throughout the land.
