Liberia: Kids Athletics Training of Trainers for Schools' Sports Officials

A one-day Kids Athletics Training of Trainers (TOT)  seminar  for schools' sports officials in preparation for the 2024 World Kids Athletics Program was held at the Samuel K. Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville on Saturday, February 24, 2024. 

The TOT was attended by PE instructors, coaches, parents, medics, and volunteers, and Ms. Daniela Krah, a World Athletics certified trainer, was the lead facilitator.

Madam Krah lectured on the values of kids’ athletics, where she underlined four pillars; respect, determination, friendship, and pride.

She outlined three (3) points: teach them to move;  inspire them to move more; and help them to move together. She also talked about the objectives and audience of kids’ athletics.

Further, facilitator Krah also talked about right, relationship, responsibility, and The TOT was attended by PE instructors, coaches, parents, medics, and volunteers, and Ms.
Daniela Krah, a World Athletics certified trainer, was the lead facilitator.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mulbah Zaza, president of the Liberia Athletics Federation (LAF) urged the
organizers of the 2024 World Kids Athletics Program to work assiduously for the attendance to
be at least 1,000 kids under 15 years old.

Former LAF head coach Samuel Cooper, who is now the  Secretary General, and Emmanuel
Agu, the chairman on Medical at the LAF separately thanked the participants for making the
seminar a success, and urged every participant  to help in recruiting and preparing at least 1000
kids to be part of 2024 World Kids Athletics Program.
