Liberia: Coach Mouctarr ‘Distressed’ Over Salary Arrears With Gardnersville FC

Coach Mouctarr Fofana

The former head coach of Gardnersville FC, Coach Mouctarr Fofana, has expressed dissatisfaction over how he was dubiously removed from the football club as head coach and without his salary.

He told the Daily Observer that the proprietor of Gardnersville FC, Senator Saah Joseph, invited him and other officials of the club team to his house over a month ago and informed him that Mohammed Kallon, founder of Kollon FC, had asked the Senator for Mouctarr to serve as head coach of Kollon FC.

Coach Mouctarr explained that Mohammed Kallon did not speak with him directly, but Sen. Saah Joseph tried to convince the coach that since Kallon FC was a big club, it would be better for him to take the opportunity.

“Senator Saah Joseph kicked me out of the team under false pretext, and he is hesitant to settle my four months salary arrears,” he said.

“Senator Joseph talked about [how] Kallon contacted him for me to coach Kallon FC, but Kallon is yet to talk with me directly,” Coach Mouctarr added.

Coach Mouctarr Fofana, in a distressed mood, claimed that Senator Joseph dubiously terminated his contract and failed to settle his arrears.

Coach Mouctarr Fofana led Nimba to victory in the last county meet, and he is again being contracted to coach the Nimba team for the upcoming county meet, which is expected to commence later this month.

Efforts to get to Senator Saah Joseph via phone calls and text messages did not materialize, as he did not respond.

“I spent two seasons with Gardnersville FC as head coach, so I need all my due benefits, especially my four months salary arrears,” Coach Mouctarr reiterated.

However, the Secretary General of Gardnerville, Roland Mulbah, said Coach Mouctarr Fofana doesn’t have any contract with the club.

“His contract has expired since last year, and efforts to renew it couldn’t materialize,” he concluded.
